What We Play

Forest Ranchers play a mix of classic rock, alternative rock and ska-punk, modern country, and classic country—bringing a touch of alternative and a little backroad attitude to every set.

Think campfire, barroom, and Saturday-night drive, all rolled into one set list.

Where We're From

Forest Ranch sits where two mountain ranges meet.

Forest Ranch is tucked into Butte County where the Sierra Nevada foothills run into the southern Cascade Range: granite domes, deep timbered valleys, ponderosa and sugar pine, and hazy volcanic peaks.

A few miles down the road, Butte Creek cuts through the canyon, and people still pan gold from its gravel bars. It is a quiet, rugged kind of place—and it is the sound Forest Ranchers grew up with.

Meet the Band

Four Forest Ranch locals. Four stories. One sound.

Dr. T

Lead Singer & Guitarist

Dr. T brings voice, guitar, brains, and a world-traveled spirit to the band. She has a PhD in biology and has lived and worked in Madagascar and New Zealand, with travels through Mexico, Asia, Europe, and beyond.

Craig

Bass

A former logger and a hard-working California blue-collar guy, Craig brings the same steady backbone and mountain-town grit to his bass playing.

Mick

Drums

Mick has been a musician for more than 40 years. He has played venues throughout Northern California. Mick brings rhythm, road experience, and a lifetime of stories.

James A. Bolte

Lead Guitar

Somewhere between the left and right coasts, you’ll most likely find James. A carpenter and all-tradesman by day and adventure seeker by night, he never sits still—riding motorbikes to go gold panning, disc golfing, paddleboarding, and more. Ask him for a tattoo, help fixing the house, or just kick back with a cold one. Much love.

Forest Ranchers have played the Lovelock Inn in Magalia and are available for small venues, restaurant bars, community events, private parties, and casual live-music nights around the foothills.
